We all want to be as environmentally responsible as we can. I want my children to enjoy this world as much as I have. That's why Blue Rain Express has incorporated a state-of-the-art Water Recovery system to effectively capture, filter and re-use water throughout the entire wash process. Because of this, our system can wash a car using only 9 gallons of fresh water. To put this into perspective, the average person uses about 42 gallons of fresh water during a ten minute shower. Even if that person restricted their shower to just four minutes, which is the amount of time it takes our system to wash and dry a car, they would still use almost 17 gallons of water. Who knew that washing your car could be better for the environment than taking a shower?

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO WASH YOUR CAR ON A WEEKLY BASIS?

As a foolish teenager, I ran my first car into the ground by neglecting to follow many of the simple maintenance steps recommended to keep it running. Because of that experience, I now vigilantly keep the oil changed, my tires inflated to their proper pressure and I make sure to follow the maintenance schedule recommended by my car's manufacturer. After all, taking care of something is often less costly than replacing it. But recently, I discovered that I had been neglecting one of the most important aspects of car care: washing.
According to Consumer Reports, one of the three critical steps in maintaining the value of your vehicle is washing on a weekly basis. By keeping bugs (which contain high levels of acid) from building up on your car you can help extend the life of your vehicles finish. It is also important to keep road grime and salt rinsed away from the undercarriage of your vehicle to prevent corrosion and damage to your cars suspension and braking system. So if you want your car to last a long time, keep it clean!

SHOULD I WASH MY CAR BEFORE OR AFTER IT RAINS?

The correct answer is before and after. If you want to have clean car, you should plan on washing your car once a week. Rain will not clean your car and may in fact do just the opposite. The surface of your car can hold all kinds of dirt particles, contaminants and road grime. Not only is the acidity of rain water harmful to your car's clear coat, but whatever particles are water soluble will mix with the rain and new paint problems are born. If you want your cars paint to last, do not depend upon that occasional rain shower to clean your car. Chances are, it will only make things worse.
